This hotel is a real gem and we fell in love with it immediately. The rooms are a little bit 'tired' but in our opinion that only added to its charm. Exceptionally good staff with a very high standard of English. The location is perfect for exploring central Beijing, just round the corner from the Gulou Bridge subway station, and once inside the hotel you would have no idea you're in the centre of a city, it's so peaceful and quiet. I will definitely come back here soon. The restaurant, tearoom and beauty parlour were all very reasonably priced and reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and informative. |

Couldn't be better! Will go there next time for sure. Excellent location (far better than the crowded and not interesting center of the city). Flawless service (the staff helped us in every respect from arranging trips, maps & directions, taxis, and even currency exchange at the bank rate) beautiful and consistently clean rooms (the traditional chinese decor make it a great experience). No need to look for any other hotel. This one is perfect. |

I can only add to the positive comments. Great value for money, nice rooms, lovely decorated, peaceful gardens and an extremely helpful staff. I must admit that at first we were a little worried when entering the hutong in which the hotel was situated but it turned out to be a quite little street in a nice part of the city. Great experience, hopefully to be repeated in a near future! |

We visited your hotel march 10-16th. We had a great time with you, also did we enjoy the food in your restaurant with all your friendly people. We shall never forget our tour in China, we had a beautifull time. We shall recommend your hotel.
We did make a picture of the staff in your restaurant, perhaps you can send it to them. And please thank all of them for the nice time we had.

竹园宾馆真是让我们高兴而归。美丽的花园，装饰精美，舒适宜人的房间和宾馆餐厅里美味可口的食品，都使我们的留宿成为一种享受。提前说明一点，
当你第一次沿着小窄巷去宾馆时，你可能认为自己搞错了。事实上你没有，等待你的将是一个惊喜。
前台的服务小姐乐于助人，工作效率高，但不太热情和有魅力。这可能是因为文化的不同吧。
这里离地铁很近，往南走一段有一个不错的公园，公园的湖边吃的花样很多。
希望你们在北京能有一段美好的经历！

我很久之前在这家酒店住过,但还是会强烈推荐它。我选择这家酒店是因为当时刚刚读过约翰·拜伦和约翰·柏克写的《龙爪》,写的是康生的传记,他是文化大革命时期中共政治局的一位高级委员。如果你想入住这里的话,可以读一下这本书,有些很有意思的背景和历史。

在这住得非常爽。我经常出差,但是这次是假期,所以我带着太太一起来到了中国。
在竹园宾馆,我们遇到了很友好善良的服务人员,他们会讲英语。
这里有西式早餐,内部餐厅也是不错的。
酒店以前是古代一位大臣的尊贵府邸。这里很干净,安静,漂亮,有一个很开阔的花园和内部休闲景致。酒店位于胡同区,你打车到这里,走入胡同里的窄小街道,你会怀疑这里的位置……不过别担心,这片区域绝对安全可靠,而进入酒店中,你会以为自己走入了不同时代的一个小天堂。在这里你可以生活在很美妙的氛围中,体验到真正的中国生活。
这个酒店与平常的商务酒店或是旅行酒店不同,而我们在北京这家很棒的、非传统的酒店中度过了美好的时光。我已向很多朋友推荐了这家酒店,当然,我下次来北京还会再住在竹园宾馆。

We stayed in a Deluxe Suite for the first several nights of our honeymoon. The room was very large with a bedroom, sitting room and 1.5 bathrooms. The bathrooms were large, modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable with a wooden canopy and red silk bed spread. |

This hotel had character...genuine Chinese decor which was very pleasing, and a large campus, which we did not explore fully. The restaurant was very good, and everything we ate was well prepared and reasonably priced. There was always someone at the front desk who spoke excellent English, so there was never any problems of communication. |

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on business in Beijing. We love the hotel's location because it's very convenient for us in business or appointment with our dealers. Moreover, staff were very helpful during our staying. Highly recommended this hotel to everyone. |

This was just a wonderful experience staying at this hotel.
The experience did not start out well as I arrived at night and the taxi driver could not locate the lane that the hotel is situated in. When the lane was found it was blocked by a truck and car so we had to walk with our luggage the last part of the lane.This was the only negative to our stay.
This is a small hotel in a historic building. The room was excellentwith modern facilities looking out onto spacious gardens.
All of the staff were very attentive and spoke very good English. Front office was very helpful and quickly attended to onward bookings, money changingand sightseeing suggestions etc.
The only meals that I had at the hotel was breakfasts and these were excellent, freshly cooked eggs and bacon and a wide selection of both Chinese and Western Foods.
The location of the hotel is great with a great number of restaurants very close by. A must try is the Le Little Saigon which is very close by and is an excellent restaurant providing both French and Vietnamese dishes.
Nearby are both subway, bus and many taxis.It is convenient to many local attractions including The Forbidden City. A walk to the nearby lake is a must.
This hotel is truly a hidden gem and I will return.

竹园宾馆是这喧闹匆忙的北京城中一个美妙而平静的绿洲。我第一次来中国的时候曾住在这里,本来是想住在一个“传统”一点的地方,而这里最后成了我的最佳选择。庭院和花园都很漂亮,各种设施总体上讲也都不错,餐厅很好(要注意那些长嘴茶壶!),尽管房间不算豪华,但是对于一个时差还没倒过来的人来说也是足够舒适了。当我读到一则关于该酒店的负面评论,批评它没有大理石地面,也没有柔软的毛绒毛巾时,我不禁大笑,拜托啊……这可是在中国!如果你想要柔软的毛绒枕头,你去住东方君悦啊——这里可不是你该来的地方。如果你想要点更传统,而且不同一般的体验,那么就住在这里!
其它的一些注意事项:
-正如其他人评价的,一定要确定你手头有足够的现金来付进城的打车钱(出租车与酒店不是联合的,所以不能简单地加到你的房间账单里)……机场有一个自动提款机,所以我建议你进城之前用一下,不过酒店也可以兑换。
-酒店附近有一个地铁站……北京的地铁特别便宜,而且去哪里都很方便。
-要保证你有酒店的中文名字和一张地图,以防你找不到回来的路(但是这一点对于中国所有酒店都适用)。
-我看到过很多关于前台服务人员的评论,褒贬不一……就我个人来讲,那位在我们入住期间帮助我们的女士很好,安排了很多活动,像听京剧和交通等事宜(我们订了一趟从北京到西安的晚班火车)。

竹园宾馆是一个很不错的选择。令人赏心悦目的建筑就坐落在胡同里美丽的四合院中。地理位置棒极了——走两条街就到地铁站,你可以坐地铁去故宫。房间很好,可以免费使用电脑。餐厅也不错,而且随便走走附近也有很多更便宜的饭馆。他们为你安排去长城的车辆,司机和导游,都很不错。

我刚刚从中国旅行归来,不得不说我住的那家竹园宾馆是我的最爱。酒店附近非常安全,而且四处逛逛也非常有趣,离鼓楼只有两条街的距离,到地铁站也只要一条街。房间很不赖,花园看起来也很赏心悦目。我很喜欢酒店的餐厅。如果你想找一家有着浓厚中国味的酒店,那就是这里了。我简直无法用语言形容出来那些服务人员有多么的热情和乐于助人。我是一个单身女人,住在这个酒店和这片区域也感到非常安全。与酒店的沟通交流总会收到他们的积极回复,我想要一件无烟房的要求也得到了满足。

我们在中国进行了为期两周的风风火火的旅行,最后一天住在这家可爱安静的胡同酒店中,住得很开心。
我们回北京的航班晚上很晚才到,但是酒店的员工已经在机场准备迎接我们了,而且迅速地将我们带回了酒店。登记入住非常高效,行李员也是安静而彬彬有礼。
我们被我们房间的美丽给震惊了。我们要的是一间带花园景观的房间,映入眼帘的是铺着鸭绒被的床,是那种可爱的中国红,有美丽的传统中国式的家具,专属我们的联网电脑,无可挑剔的洗手间,和面向花园的窗子。
我们在房间里度过了很宁静的夜晚和早晨,在外面空地上散散步。北京的喧嚣完全远离我们,在这家酒店里你像是属于另一个世界。
我们在酒店餐厅享用了午餐。茶是从一个长嘴茶壶中倒出来的,桌子摆放在透明地板的上面,我们可以透过地板看到下面的绿色池塘。服务很讲究礼节,食物也非常可口:八宝豆腐,竹笋蘑菇,酸甜里脊和北京炸酱面。我们很喜欢这顿饭。
我们还会经常回去住在这里的,实际上,我们重游中国肯定会住在这里。
